Water is one of the most basic of all needs - we cannot live for more than a few days without it. Sadly, the people in Cité Soleil have no choice but to play this gambling act with every moment of their life. Last year, donations to this website helped raise the funds to build a self-sustaining, non-profitable water tower in the main marketplace of Cité Soleil - providing a safe common ground for approximately 100,000 people to obtain clean water.
This 'centre-piece' will aid in the rescue of thousands of people whose fate otherwise is certain.
Progress of the water tower
As of May 2009, the water tower is 90% complete... we are only waiting on the tower to be connected to the regional water system from Port-au-Prince. Members of Help Tammy Help Haiti will be returning in July 2009 for the grand opening.
The water tower is now complete and providing clean water to thousands.
