Currently the people of Cité Soleil have little or no access to medical attention of any sort. A simple cut can turn into a major infection causing loss of life or limb.While members of Help Tammy Help Haiti are not doctors or nurses - they all have extensive training in basic and emergency first aid.
Tammy and the other members of the organization walk the streets of Cité Soleil meeting the people and treating almost anything imaginable right in the field. Be it a wound from a fight, a case of measeles or scabies and even severe burns, when Help Tammy Help Haiti is present, these people know they can seek free medical help. All serious cases are instructed to go to a hospital immediately.
Now that the water tower has been completed, plans will be underway to construct a permanent medical clinic allowing people free access to professional medical assistance.
